dsl-g804v questions

I'm working with dsl-g804v. I need to connect the router to the ADSL line trough another router, which have a modem connection.
First: As i have to configure the wan interface for the dsl-g804v to work in this context ? I tried all the different types but dos'nt work. I have to route everything via lan interface to operate.
Second: Is there any way to activate the vpn/l2tp without the ADSL line directly attached to the router ? it seems to be "limited" only with the phisical attachement.
Have any information about?

Hi,
In order to be able to use the DSL-G804V with another dsl modem, you need to desable the dhcp feature on the DSL-G804V.
Then to connect it via one of his ethernet ports.

Regarding the vpn, there is no way to use if the DSL-G804V is not connected to the adsl filter.

Do you know if is there any d-link product with the same dsl-g80v's features (vpn/l2tp, dhcp relay mainly) without the adsl modem ?

Hi,
The device I can think off is the DFL series.
The cheapest but very good device is DFL210 with a wan por, a configurable port (DMZ or wan port) and 4 ethernt ports as lan.

You can also use DFL-200 which is an old version of D-Link firewall.
New version are DFL-210/800/1600/2500.

Or maybe wait for the new coming DIR-330 and 430.
